Our first fundraiser is this beautiful calendar with proceeds to help buy another gallon of AV gas, a student scholarship and an experience of a life time for another teenager who might not otherwise be able to enjoy aviation.

This item is the ACE Academy 2012 wall calendar with photos of the ACE Academy Camp from this past summer as well as previous summer camps.  The calendar contains over 60 color photos showing the many events over the week long aviation camp for teens.

ACE Academy Camp (Aviation Career Education)
ACE Academy Camp is a program co-sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and provides opportunities  for students to explore the wide variety of aviation careers available in the military and civilian sector.  Many campers go on to become accomplished pilots getting their first real taste of the world of aviation through their summer ACE Academy experience.

 This past summer was the (   ) year for the ACE Academy Camp and it was the first summer camp that devoted a full day with a focus on float flying.  Each student camper got to experience flying in the “right seat”, taking off, landing, taxing, docking and maintenance  of one of 6 different seaplanes that showed up for the day, each pilot volunteering their time, gas, aircraft and expertise.  Other events of the week included visits to local aviation companies, airports, grass strips, seaplane bases and maintenance and repair facilities.  The Maine Air and Army National Guard hosted the students and showed them the HU60 Blackhawk helicopter, the KC135 Refueling Tanker including pre-flight training and planning as well as in-flight observation and guidance in the Refueling Boom Guidance and Control Bay.  Students visited the Flight Control Tower at Bangor International Airport as well as the Radar Room, the Challenger Learning Center learning rocket flight and visited the Maine Aviation Historical Museum.  It was a fun filled and action packed week for everyone and was captured in photos for this calendar.

Calendar:
The calendar measures 17” x 11” when open and is bound with a comb binding to allow for complete and flat opening.

All calendars come sealed in a protective, clear, re-sealable sleeve and securely packed in a rigid mailer shipped USPS First Class Domestic.
